The League is once again organising a Christmas Supper at the Orchard House Chinese restaurant in Abergele. Those who've been before will recall that they laid on a very splendid Chinese banquet for us. Date is Wednesday December 14th, and cost will be around £16 a head. Yvonne Stubbington is co-ordinating the arrangements - if you'd like to come, call her on 01745 550611 or 07826 108273, or email her on ystubbington@hotmail.com. No money needed up front - everyone will settle their own bill on the night.

Kath and Jules both have a supply of Joola GOLD 3-star balls - £3.00 per box of three. Jules will be at Denbigh next Monday, and Kath will be at Craig-y-don on Monday and Y Morfa on Tuesday.

League News 25/10/11

Amlwch A stretch their lead to two points after an emphatic 10-0 score over Craig-y-don A.

Denbigh A remain second after seeing off Junction 9-1. Some fantastic encounters here including Paul Hulme being involved in two fantastic five setters that ended 11/9. He scrapped past Jim Paton but lost out to Rob Walker. However the closest match was between Melvyn Booker and Jim. Melvyn held on 15-13 in the fifth to secure his maximum on the night.

Y Morfa C move into fourth spot after winning the derby match against their C team 10-0. This ensured that Colin McEvoy maintains his 100% start to the season.

Police B achieved their first point in the top flight thanks to Peter Roberts but lost out 9-1 to Amwlch B.

A quiet week in division two saw Craig-y–don B move into second spot after giving the students a table tennis lesson. Mathew Rutt put up some resistance for the University beating Dave Middleton, taking a game from Ady Waugh and losing out narrowly to Rob Hughes 12-10 in the fifth.

Division one: Llandudno Junction 1 Denbigh A 9, Police B 1 Amlwch B 9, Craig-y-don A 0 Amlwch A 10, Y Morfa B 10 Y Morfa C 0.

2011-2012 Season

The fixture list has now been published - go to the new "Fixtures & Tables" page for details. Eighteen teams were submitted (sadly, both Amlwch and Y Morfa have lost their second division teams) but there is an additional team in the form of the Nomads - see below for details.

PLEASE NOTE THAT BOTH JUNCTION AND AMLWCH HAVE CHANGED THEIR HOME NIGHT FROM WEDNESDAY TO TUESDAY!

The allocation of teams to first and second divisions means that there are a great many free weeks in Division Two, but we hope to be able to arrange some further matches to fill some of the gaps. If anybody has any ideas about this, please let the Committee know.

Nomads

Nomads is a team which will play in Division One, but is drawn from a pool of players who all play for regular teams in Division Two. Its purpose is to give some of our up-and-coming juniors (and some of our Div 2 seniors!) a chance to play some matches in Division One. Nomad players may be drawn from any team in Division Two, and a new player can join the team at any time (provided he/she is already registered as a player for a Div 2 team) so that if any club has juniors who are making good progress during the season, or seniors who fancy a challenge, they can have the chance to play against more advanced players.

The 2011/12 Nomads team so far is:

Gabbi Wan

If any other Division Two player would like to join the Nomads, please contact Kath - but please be aware that this will be as well as, not instead of, your commitment to your normal Div 2 team, so you're almost certain to end up playing two matches some weeks.
